In the afternoon the beach widens and the sand turns almost to white powder, so fine in squirks under my boots. I am still walking east closing in on the corner of the island, where I will head North

The waves roles in quiet today, blinking green under a sky that looks darker than in the morning. The beach is empty and small riddles of sand forms around a few stones in the wind. The beach is famous. “The finest sand in the world” the locals claim. They say they even exported loads of it to Sahara countries, as if they didn’t have sand enough… “But not like the sand here” They say proudly
